01 — Repairs

Wood floor repairs

Loose boards, lifting planks, broken parquet blocks, open gaps, movement and squeaks are the most common problems we fix. We secure and re-fix boards, replace any that are split or beyond saving, close gaps and resolve the underlying movement — then blend the repair into the surrounding floor so it disappears once finished.

  • Re-fixing loose, lifting and squeaking boards
  • Replacing split, cracked or damaged planks
  • Filling gaps and addressing movement
  • Colour-matched blending into the existing floor

02 — Sanding & sealing

Floor sanding & sealing

Sanding removes years of wear, old finish, scratches and stains, taking the floor back to clean, bare timber. We work through the grits for an even, smooth surface, then protect it with your choice of finish. Our machines use dust extraction to keep mess to a minimum throughout.

  • Dust-managed sanding with fine-grit finishing
  • Staining to lighten, darken or change tone
  • Hardwax oil, natural oil or lacquer finishes
  • Matt, satin or gloss sheen to suit the room

03 — Parquet

Parquet & herringbone repairs

Parquet and herringbone floors need a careful, pattern-aware approach. We re-lay loose and lifting blocks, replace missing or damaged blocks with matching timber, fill gaps and re-establish the original pattern before sanding and refinishing the whole floor for a seamless result.

  • Re-laying loose and lifting parquet blocks
  • Sourcing and fitting matching replacement blocks
  • Restoring herringbone, basket-weave and borders
  • Full sand and reseal once the pattern is restored

04 — Water damage

Water damage repairs

Leaks, spills and flooding can cup, stain, swell or lift wooden boards. We assess how far the damage has spread into the boards and subfloor, then repair wherever the timber can be saved — replacing affected boards, addressing the cause where we can, and refinishing so the repair blends into the rest of the floor.

  • Honest assessment of what can and can't be saved
  • Replacement of stained, cupped or swollen boards
  • Blending and refinishing to match the surrounding floor

05 — Scratches & dents

Scratch & dent repairs

Not every mark needs a full sand. For localised scratches, dents, pet damage and surface wear, we offer spot repairs — filling, colour matching and re-finishing the affected area so it blends in with the rest of the floor, saving you the cost and disruption of a full restoration.

  • Spot repair of scratches, dents and gouges
  • Colour matching to the existing finish
  • A cost-effective alternative to a full sand

06 — Restoration

Full floor restoration

For old, tired or heavily worn floors, a complete restoration transforms the whole room. We repair any damage, fill gaps, sand the floor back to bare timber and finish it in your chosen colour and sheen — restoring the floor's appearance and extending its life for years to come. We also fit and finish new engineered, plank and herringbone flooring where boards are beyond repair.

  • Whole-room sand, repair and refinish
  • Gap filling and levelling where needed
  • Supply and fit of new engineered & plank flooring

Questions & answers

Wooden floor repair FAQs

How do I know if my wooden floor can be repaired or needs replacing?
Most wooden floors can be repaired rather than replaced. We assess the condition of the wood, subfloor and finish, then recommend the most cost-effective option — a localised repair, a sand and reseal, or board replacement where the timber is beyond saving.
Do you repair parquet and herringbone floors?
Yes. We re-lay loose and lifting blocks, replace missing or damaged blocks, fill gaps and restore the original pattern before sanding and refinishing the floor.
Is floor sanding dusty?
We use modern sanding machines with dust extraction to keep mess to a minimum. Some fine dust is unavoidable, but the vast majority is captured at the source.
How long does a floor restoration take?
A typical room can be sanded and finished in two to three days, depending on its size, the number of coats and the drying time of the chosen finish. We confirm the timeline before starting.
Can you match the colour of new boards to my existing floor?
Yes. We colour-match replacement boards using stains and finishes, then blend the repair into the surrounding floor so it's difficult to see where the work was carried out.
Do you repair water-damaged wooden floors?
We assess water-damaged floors and repair them wherever the boards and subfloor can be saved, replacing affected boards and refinishing to match.
Which areas of London do you cover?
We cover homes and commercial properties across North, East, West, South and Central London, including Islington, Hampstead, Finchley, Camden, Kensington and Chelsea.
Do you offer free quotes?
Yes. Send us photos of your floor for fast, no-obligation advice and a clear quotation before any work begins.
